Periplous" is the Greek word for sailing around an island ; this sailing route will take you around Lesvos coasts.
1st day: Sail towards the North East We will sail along the east coast passing Mytilini (Lesvos' capital), Panagiouda a pretty village with a picturesque fishing port, Pyrgi Thermis a traditional mansion village, Mistegna, a village covered in olive trees. Our first stop will be Tokmakia islets and "Aspronisi", which has a beautiful beach with golden sand and blue waters. These features with the sound made by the cries of seagulls overhead, create a heavenly landscape. This is where the fullest and most delicious sea-urchins can be found, while the surrounding area is suitable for fishing. This is also a popular spot for dolphins. 2nd day: Sail towards the North Coasts We will sail along the east coast passing Mytilini (Lesvos' capital), Panagiouda a pretty village with a picturesque fishing port, Pyrgi Thermis a traditional mansion village, Mistegna, a village covered in olive trees. This is also a popular spot for dolphins. 3rd day:Sail towards the West Coast Sunset sailing from Mithymna to the graphic haven of Gavatha, where we will stop to overnight. This side of the island is characterised by its volcanic rocks and aridity in most of the area. There are many beaches, some of which are among the most beautiful of the island. 4th & 5th day: Sail towards the South-West Coast Early morning sailing to Sigri fishing village, a wonder of nature where the petrified-forest museum is located. Here we will swim, have lunch and visit the museum. On our way to Plomari, we will pass from Tsiclionta beach, Skala Eressos (the birthplace of the world famous poetess Sappho), Tavari fishing village, Vatera beach and arrive to Plomari at sunset, where we will overnight. 6th day Sail back to Skala Loutron We will stay in Plomari (the metropolis of ouzo) and have the chance to do mountain bike, horse-riding and trekking to experience the inland essences in the most beautiful and green side of the island. Olive groves and pines, chestnut, apple and nut trees alternate harmoniously, on the slopes, hillocks and shady valleys. 7th day: Sail back to Skala Loutron
